   When the whoo haa! disappeared Wigan got its Soul back! Check when you’re favourite tunes were played at the Casino. ‘77-’81, cold nights,lots of room on the dance floor, fabulous tunes… no pop!

   Thought 77 to 79 were the worst years for the Casino when it broke away from Northern Soul - classic white pop music a plenty and some of the brethren trying to call it “Northern” only . You have to salute this venue for taking a forward thinking , exiting Black Music scene into a retro /preservation society looking backwards !! Well done Wigan you destroyed Northern Soul !
